| MACS® GMP PepTivator™ AdV5 Hexon |
|
| Description |
Human adenoviruses (AdV) are ubiquitous lytic DNA viruses, consisting of multiple serotypes and subspecies. AdV infections are associated with significant morbidity and mortality after hematopoetic stem cell transplantations.
The hexon protein is one of the three major proteins of the viral capsid and an immunodominant target antigen for CD4+ and CD8+ T cells that is conserved between the serotypes and subspecies.
The MACS GMP PepTivator™ AdV5 Hexon is a peptide pool that consists mainly of 15-mer peptides with eleven amino-acid overlap. It has been developed for efficient in vitro stimulation and subsequent isolation AdV5 hexon-specific CD4+ and CD8+ T cells.
One vial contains 60 nmol/peptide for the stimulation of 109 total cells. |
| Applications |
Antigen-specific T cells play a critical role in the regulation of immune responses and the elimination of virus-infected or malignant cells in the human body. Adoptive transfer of clinical-grade hexon-specific CD4+ and CD8+ T cells is a valuable tool for the treatment of AdV infections after hematopoietic stem cell transplantation (SCT)1.
The in vitro stimulation of hexon-specific CD4+ and CD8+ T cells with MACS® GMP PepTivator AdV5 Hexon causes the production of the effector cytokine IFN-gamma. The secretion of IFN-gamma then permits the enrichment of hexon-specific effector/memory T cells with the use of the CliniMACS Cytokine Capture System (IFN-gamma). |
